Pertronix Ignitor Installation
ok, well, if anyone read my last post about the Pertronix igniton system, this is an update. I went and got the ignition system today, and I installed it on my Z. Overall install time took me around 30 mins, but could easily be done in 10 to 15 (I didn't understand the instructions fully). The pros to having the electronic ignition is that it runs hotter, burns fuel more efficiently, and you never have to set your points. Some things I didn't like about the Ignition kit is that 1.wires are waaay too short (yes, you can splice them, but why would you want to do all of that??) and 2. the instructions are super vague. I had to call my dad and use my haynes manual to find everything. Oh, thanks to zpeedracer25 for this link, and just his help altogether. He showed me this link, and it shows in more detail how to wire the pertronix ignition onto the older Z, and it is so much better than the Pertronix installation guide: http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/tech/ZXPertronix.htm
I'd recommend this upgrade, the car feels like it responds better, but I've got some more bugs to work out. Oh, and note: the Pertronix Ignitor comes with screws to replace the ones you have in your Z, USE THEM! I didn't think about using them, and I damaged the little magnet that it comes with.
Anyone wants the instructions in my words, post and I'll post them myself.

Glad to hear your conversion worked out!
By the way...no more stressing for me bout the baby being close. Colin was born on the 9th after a painful 30 hour labor. Man was I exhausted! I can only imagine how bad it was for my wife.
