Restoration
I'm new to the site but I just wanted to put the word out about my project. I have a 1975 280Z that was custom built for Nissan by a custom shop out in Cali. The car has less that 18k miles but the paint is in sad shape. If you are not familiar w/ the car it is the original car that the molds for the Jim Cook "CaliforniaZ" body kit was taken from. the difference is that this car is all metal ans has no headlights or side mirrors. I plan on doing a complete restoration of the car and I know how involved this can be. it's not my first Z car either. Coincidentaly I found this jem on a used car lot in Monterey Ca and got it for a steal of a price considering what it is. I have several pictures but I have no idea how to get them up on this site. Anyway, wish me luck guys.

What exactly do you have planned. I would not change the appearance at all. I would rebuild the motor and interior mount some Hellas on the front for light, otherwise that thing is sweet like it is. It is street legal in the daytime, you just cant run it at night. It would make a nice show peice or a road racer.
Enjoy it what ever you do!!!!!!!

I plan on a full restoration to the original condition. the interior is like new, it even still smells new. The engine will be rebuilt and everything will be put back the way it should be. the paint will be reproduced in original form. It's going to be a show car that will occationally be driven. How many people do you know that have a 1975 car w/ less than 18k miles and are willing to risk driving it on the street?
