Rims & Tires - is bigger better?
Well, I've seen people with small, 15 inch rims, and then people with 17" or higher rims on their Zs, or any car for that matter. I've heard that smaller tires allow for less roll in turns and therefore better handling, but wouldn't they be heavier? I mean more metal and less rubber and air sounds worse than lots of rubber and air and less metal. What are the actual advantages and disadvantages of each?
If all comes down to mostly preference, then I would get some 15" maybe 16" rims, because those big ones just look ugly.

perfectindustry,
This topic has been discussed alot on almost every forum.
I just read a detailed multi page write up about this in
Grassroots Motorsports . What you are talking about is
Plus sizing and there are pros and cons to this.
For what its worth I use 225/45/15's on my autocross car,
because I get them cheap from a road racer and the other
reason is they are only 22.7 " dia. This allows me to get
away with using my 3:36's although 3:70 to 4:11 would really
make me fly.
I am going to see if our new web site sponsor can have their
tire tech. guy do a FAQ for us.
