Running horrible - Back from the dead
Sup guys, I'm coming back out of hiding for a while. Z has been parked since November 2010 as it started running like garbage, so I bought a 2010 Civic new off the lot as my new DD.
I started the Z up the other day and went for a drive, but it wasn't as pleasurable as I would have imagined. She's stuttering under acceleration, similar to an ignition misfire. I've replaced the cap, rotor, coil, spark plugs, and plug wires, but the issue still persists.
I notice that if I add more choke, the stutter begins to disappear a bit, but is still present under WOT. Since choke adds more fuel to the mixture, I turned my carbs out a turn more, which made the stutter less noticeable, but still present under WOT as before.
Any ideas as to what else needs to be tweaked? I know I need to buy a set of ZTherapy carbs sometime soon as the current carbs are incredibly worn. A new distributor is also on the list of parts to replace, the advance on mine doesn't seem to work reliably.
