I had one in my 70 240 and it was sweet. I am putting one in my 78. I will tell you this, it takes a little getting use to. You tend to pull to hard on the shifts, but asfter you get use to it you will never go back to stock.

On my '72 four speed the kit fit perfectly. But on my '78 5-speed tranny I had to remachine (grind down) the attach ears that the pin goes through on the linkage. But, after doing so it was a great improvement!!!
I just reworked my shift **** and made it where it would screw in deeper(all the way down).
That cut the shift throw a good amount and I didn't have to buy a kit.
