snwy gots a ZZZZZ!!!!!

yup, after 2 years or so without a good Z project, i finally got one, its getting shipped from texas (should be here thursday). its a 280Z i think a 76 (forget the actual year) with a turbo motor sitting in it, rust free supposedly, no wiring done auto... luckily i've done 3 turbo wire ups only thing different this time is dealing with the fuel pump of a 280Z. however i don't like to just get things runing. so first things first, its getting stripped and undercoated all poly bushings. also the talon is for sale and god damn does it have alot of attention, so its gona be gone, then im buying about 2k worth of goodies and spending the rest on a daily driver. also it will get painted, im thinking of black, not sure if im going matte or regular and just matt black accents on accessories (like the flares and bre spoiler cause it will recieve them). then its drive train back in and good to go. probably be ready by may, depending on what i get for the talon and how crazy school gets. i like to set strict deadlines. lol. i'll post pics as soon as i can.

so...... how's it feel to have me back in the Z game? hahahaha

ad is on craigslist. hydraulics for the clutch are giving me problems. going to replace the slave now since the current one seems to be letting air in the system as soon as you crack open the bleeder valve.otherwise though its getting ALOT of attention and i think i have a buyer for it he is just waiting a couple days to see if i can work out the clutch issue before he makes an offer. stupid *** clutch... GRRRR!!!!!

i dont put alot of miles on ANY car i own. plus, it was down ALOT. from things other than the motor, ever since the rebuild and proper tensioner its been a stought *** motor. even wehn i boost controller came a part and its spiked to 28lbs of boost, not a hiccup from it. but now the clutch pedal assembly is turning to toast, a common 1G DSM problem. i have it half fixed but cant fix it without new parts, luckily only 35 dollars from the dealer, unluckily i dont have time to do that **** and its not an easy task pulling the clutch pedal assembly, BTW this clutch pedal assembly is THE ABSOLUTE WORST i have ever seen. holy crap mitsu really failed there

Welcome back!

It'll be a race to see who's on the road first. I'm shooting for spring break for my first drive in the car, and by summer I'll have it [cheaply] painted and with a decent suspension.

lol you have a HUGE head start on me. im going to do alot to it before its on the road, im shooting for may. i want a full suspension overhaul and setup for track use and a few body mods (front valence rear bre spoiler n flairs with some fat wheels lol). and thanks for the offer but i think i got a killer deal on this S30 otherwise i woulda contacted you. and paint lol. its alot of work. and the talon is an exception, when things break right after you fix one thing its hard to keep up with it, plus i didnt have a passion for the talon, with S30's its much different. i also talked to my dad, says its a 77 or 78 and supposedly does have a 5spd in it already so thank god thats work i dont have to fool with.

this one will be around for a long long time. i got everything else i want, bike, Z, and after selling the talon a decent daily with money to spare. sounds win win win to me.

update, got the Z in the mail today. rust freeeeeee. theres like 3 spots where the PO sanded and didnt cover and has very minor surface rust on it but thats all, you can almost rub it off with your fingers haha. has a turbo motor in it, but IS automatic... luckily i got the **** to fix that laying around. also it came with the urethane front airdam i like AND a full poly master urethane bushing kit. it didnt come with paint like promised though. also it appears the PO tried to make the car run off the stock 70's efi system, it is pluged up to it and has a NA dizzy AFM and coil setup on it, that was VERY dissappointing. now i gotta talk to him and see if he has all the turbo junk otherwise more **** to source. UGH! its a P90 head though, no crappy hydro lifters for me!

without further adooo

How did you buy a car without knowing it was automatic and didn't have paint? lol

And I think us S30 owners have a lax understanding of "rust free." I say the same thing, but both you and I have a little bit of rust. lol

lol, i consider rust free anything non rot. like where the emblems on the side go is the only "rust" spots and you can tell it just started to accumalte there. its from texas, right over the dry line so its from a great area. i just cant believe he tried to use NA electronics. i facepalmed. and i was sure it was auto but my dad was talking to the guy and when i asked he is like NO i think its a 5spd, and im like idk..... but yeah it was supposed to have paint inside the car with clear, like in a can, he said he'd send it with so he either forogot or lost it when he moved.

maybe ill take this opportunity to just go straight to megasquirt or Z31 setup. i can get a brand new turbo dizzy and coil and ignitor from work, so anyone got leads on a Z31 ecu MAF and dizzy wheel lol. still would need that turbo harness though. and i've never gotten to play with MSnS so thats a scary territory. though i think my cousin has that i've never met lol. dad's brothers kid apparently has megasquirted a couple.

It shouldn't be bad, just let it warm up for a couple minutes if its cold and it should be alright.

I had all of that stripped, just a little cold blooded on a chilly day but no big deal.
