Stolen 280z- Oakland California
hi everyone-
my 77 280z was stolen from outside my house in Oakland this week. i'd appreciate it if any other z enthusuasts in the area would keep an eye out for it- be it in parts, or on the street. it's painted deep metallic blue (pretty recent paint job) with a flat black primer hood- some of the primer is coming off revealing yellow underpaint on the nose. it's got a BRE-style spoiler in back, and front air dam that's holding on by black duct tape. but i love her anyway.
thanx for your time...

Dude, that sucks. Everyone should take this seriously. There has been a significant increase in Z thefts over the last year. I'm not sure what is driving it, but with the wear on the locks and ignitions of these cars after nearly 30 years, it's not too hard to break into these cars and drive them away with little or no damage.
Keep 'em off the street people!

it's in pretty good shape, all things considered. front air dam hanging off, rear spolier scratches, cocaine on the console, bag of pot on the floor, empty Entemann's cake box on the floor.
sounds like someone had a pretty good tuesday night in my car. and what the hell; it only cost me $600 to get it back...

i had to pay for storage lot costs and the towing fees to the storage lot. i was out of town when they found it, so i had to pay for a week of storage. it also racked up a few parking tickets; still not sure if i have to pay for those.
as far as being concerned about having your Z stolen in oakland; i have heard that car theft is on the rise here, but, truth be told, my car was on the street and the driver's side door doesn't lock, so i had it coming...
