Struts? Springs?
Im looking at this 75 280z for sale. I just called the guy up. He said if i wanted it to ride real nice then i would need to replace the struts and springs. I looked in the VB and all they have is Tokico, Koni, Eibach and im sure a few others, but none are the stock type. Ebay doesnt have them either. So is there like a place to get original parts like these?

VB is expensive, and almost no one makes oem replica springs, as Mudge said. Your best bet is to get mild lowering springs and KYB struts if you're looking for a decent ride with improved handling.
Plenty of places carry struts and springs:
www.strictlyz.com (our sponsor)
www.zcarparts.com (motorsport auto)
www.ground-control.com

Dont forget about your local auto parts store as well, sometimes things can be cheaper that way, unless of course your looking for a performance product in which case you pretty much have to go to a specialty online-"etailer."
Thing like brake shoes and such though I get locally, for front pads though, I like a performance pad. Anywho, I'm rambling...

Rebuildable struts are Konis, Bilsteins, not stockers, not KYB either.
I am VERY picky about suspension stuff, to the point that I can afford that is, and KYBs etc are crap IMO except for a stock car. I have Koni doubles on my 'other' car, but will probably go Bilsteins revalved for the 240Z.
I'm unfortunately not sure what strut inserts from other cars will work with the ID (inside diameter) of the 280 strut tube (not the same as 240). 300ZX maybe? I only say this because alot of MFG have dropped support for the early Z cars, so far as I know Tokico for instance is no longer MFG Z car struts. This is as of maybe 6 weeks ago that I heard this information.
Most certainly though, without 'hacking' a stock strut is not rebuildable, it was never intended to be re-used, and it was never intended to be performance oriented. Not alot of cars get OEM parts in such form, in fact most OEM struts will have a 30k mile lifespan, depending on your driving of course. A Bilstein will usually go 100k miles if you dont over spring them, and they are rebuildable for about $55 each, and as a single tube design they should run cooler than my Koni doubles for instance. I wanted the flexibility to change springs though later on.
Just my 22 cents

LOL i saw that thread also
and its about right. KYB imo SUCK!! some like them some dont
i would go with a tokico combination or tokico strut and eibach spring combo for a good ride and improved handling
dont go cheap or you will be replacing and spending more money and time once again

Ok, I ran across a set of STOCK 240Z springs "brand new" with stickers, $600 USD
I'm going to guess your not interested, and I would HOPE that you aren't! Even if the ride has sagged, say 1/4" I would much rather make a spacer if I really wanted to raise it back up.
Or get a set of custom wound springs, I bet that would be under $600 even though not original Nissan equipment, I'm not a purist though.
