Re: Tiajuana Paint Job???
sounds risky to me. Yo are right, you can get realy good deals in Mexico, and they usually do a great job. It's risky to be an american driving around a freshly painted car in Mexico though. I've hear many horror stories of cars being stolen and vandalized in Mexico. I won't even take my car into mexico when i go, i park it on the american side and walk across.

I agree, I'd be extremely careful of going down there with a Z car for a paint job not knowing anyone and hoping to get back out ok, and I was born in Mexico and I speak the language.
I would heartily recommend you find someone you both know and trust that has done this. If you're going by the "everyone knows" or "I know someone who knows someone who knows someone...." then you are literally stepping into the unknown. Even with someone that has done this, I would be extremely careful.
I'm not saying that all those people down there are dishonest or anything, but unfortunately, there are too many that WILL take advantage of a "dumb Gringo" and it would be way too easy for you to get sucked into the "come wiz me, I show you good time" routine only to find yourself dumped out in the desert with no car, no money and nothing else.
Remember, now matter how much money you would save, it doesn't compare with having your car ripped off.
