what a deal ... 240Z for $200
I found a 1971 240z complete. Lots of great parts, no rust in the floor boards and the motor still runs. Only one problem. Rust around the battery box has found its way into the frame.
Please look at the picture and let me know if there is a fix.
HELP!!!

take it too a good frame/welding shop, have them fabricate up a patch, it'll prolly cost you a hundred+ bucks, but it'll be as good as new, and just as strong. but besides that, patch up that fender well, and you'll be back and running in no time.

Hi, Rusty
It's seems like a great deal, but have a few questions. Have you actually taken a look at the car because I think I have seen that picture somewhere else.
The repair to the battery box and frame rail depends on your mechanical aptitude and access to tools.
The battery box requires alot of metal forming. and the frame rails are sold by Charlie from Zed findings.
You will have to remove your engine tranny and front end to do this work.
some major areas of concern that I have come across that are prone to rust on our cars are as follows
-The "dogleg" at the bottom of the door right in front of the wheels(takes alot of work to replace there are almost 6 laminates of metal to be worried about.
-the wheel arches especially the back ones.
-the very bottom, rear of the front fenders.
the rockers
-the inside of the tork box under the cowl.
It sounds like a good deal, IF you can fix her.
Good luck.

I copied the pic from another site. Just imagine a large hole where the arrow is pointing. There are some other areas in the hatch lip that need some TLC but not like the frame and battery box area. Thanks for the comments.
