I have a 1979 280zx non-turbo with a black switch located at the drivers side under dash that reads "Pull Open". Does anyone have any idea what this switch does. It looks like it has two vacuum hoses attached but I have no idea why. Thanks for the help!

The dash board panel is screwed in, that doesn't seem to be it.

 

My 84 has one - it is the floor cool air vent.
