White Seats?
#4
My first Z, which was a '77 with gold paint came with the off-white interior including the seats. The seats were ripped, so I reupholstered black, but saved the rest and redyed them. I think it looked pretty classy. I seem to remember an old issue of Zcar Magazine where they featured two very low mileage 240's, which were both the same color (red), and both had the white interiors.

The rest of the car interior was black and so that is why i thought that it was kinda weird for the car to have these white seats with a black dash. I wish the seats were fine because i would like to have the white seats. But now i have to make them black .

i don't know about 280s but 240z from year 1970 you could get the white interior on a special order or if you get lucky find used ones as a matter of fact there is a 72 ridin around with white interior down here on the gulf coast and it looks sweeeeeet .

Brandon, I wouldn't change your seat color. I would change the other items in your car. White seats are rare, as black is sort of regular now. If you wanted, I'm sure you could sell your white ones, then get some black ones and maybe pull a few bucks your pockets.

White Seats
90% sure that all Australian deliverd 260Zs had the option of an off-white interior. I have a '78 260Z 2+2 and it has the full off-white interior appart from the dash. 260Zs 74 - 76 had off white vynal but the plastic trims where still black .. eg the plastic behind the door handels rear strut tower caps where all black. But from '77 - '78 all the plastics where released in the off-white colour aswell. According to the Z car workshop where i live im only the second car he's seen with the offwhite plastics in brisbane.
I also have a 9/'72 240Z with the white interior, it's that ultra red colour (orangy red)

I would love to keep the white seats but all of the vinyl is ripped except for one piece on the passenger seat. Does anyone no a company that makes reuphostery kits for the white seats? All I can find is black. I don't think anyone would want to buy my seats the person that had the z before me smoked and now they turned to an off white color. Also the seats are in pretty bad shape. The driver seat is ripped complety to the cushion on the "butt" part of the seat except for the outer edge of the seats. The Back part of the seats isn't that bad looking but there are a few cuts and holes in the driver seat, and the passenger back rest has only one cut and that is behind the seat and the vinly is cracked. I don't think anyone would want to buy these seats of mine. Just because they are pretty much beyond repair

Brandon28,
I know Victoria British makes a ton of seat upholstery kits. I also saw some on the net. Just type in Datsun Z seat kit; actually here's a link:

Hope this helps.
