how much vacuum?
i recently bought a 240z with the scarab conversion, the problem is that there is a huge cam in it and it makes like 13 pounds of vacuum, so how much vacuum does the brake booster need to operate?

I must have been absent in Physics the day they explained vacuum in pounds... because I thought it was measured in inHg / mmHg / kPa. So what does 13lbs of vacuum convert to in mmHg or inHg?

Most power brake boosters are vacuum operated devices requiring approximately a minimum of 17 inches of vacuum to operate. You can check the amount of vacuum your engine makes with a vacuum gauge. If less than the required amount of vacuum is made, you will need at a minimum a vacuum reservoir. Many engines will make enough vacuum to operate the booster under some operating conditions.

wooo inches of mercury!!!
also thats normal for ANY car with a cam, 14-12 is what they usually read, so its possible the old *** brake booster isnt operating anymore, though i have more of a feeling it might just be shot.
