Hi all,

I am trying to install some new speakers in my 280 but the rear speakers (near the seats) are proving to be difficult. How does one remove the grill without breaking it? Am i just not pulling hard enough? ANy help would be great.

Also what are some good reasonable speaker arrangments that I could install?

 

Not sure about the 2+2, but in my coupe, there are 4 screws. Are you sure you aren't missing some screws?

 

no, unfortuntley there aren't. I looked for ages. I pulled one corner off and it seems to be a plastic plug holding them in. The other corners are proving difficult. Do you perhaps have a photo of your grills?

 

You have to remove side pannel. The grill is held in place with clips.

 

How exactly do i go about doing that?

 

You will have to remove the back seat, doorpost trim, coat hook and possibly the roof trim that covers the rear part of the headliner. There is a phillips screw at the buttom of the side panel. And some body clips. You can pull the panel back and get to the speaker grill clips without completely taking off the side panel. Hope this helps. Stu
