280 radio

Since I want to stay as original as possible I found a OEM radio on ebay to replace my original 1982 280zx (see photo below). I am hoping I can get a few of my questions answered.

The face plate on my unit is better than the eaby one, is it easy to exchange without bending or breaking it or anything else?

Does anyone have detailed instructions to remove the unit and then reinstall?

I'm thinking that once the whole unit is removed (the cassette, radio and the plastic that goes around it) I may replace just the radio and not the whole thing. Anyone have expeience with doing that or suggestions?

The faceplate is attached (screwed) to the whole radio bezel. Four 10mm bolts up top, four 10mm at the bottom, and a couple other screws...

Thank you Nismo. Do you or anyone know where to go to get instructions on removing the radio/cassette unit?

Instructions? I just told you.

If you need more detail than "remove the 10mm bolts", check the Haynes manual, or download the fsm from www.xenons130.com

There's an outfit locally that specializes in restoring factory car radios.
