The trouble with led bulbs is they dont have a very wide spread of light and therefore create a hotspot of light in your dash!

some of these bulbs have the lights on the sides as well as top. that could help

I'm using some SMD LEDs with them mounted on the sides as well, and they are really bright at night. Much better than the factory lighting. I'd recommend using them over standard LED bulbs with only forward facing LEDs mounted.
