door speakers

i was wonderin if any one ventured the idea of putting speakers in the front lower coners of the doors (you know like all the rest of the cars on the planet), i am sure some one has, i was wondering on the possibility of it.

i am thinking of putting the 6 inch infiniti's i have in the doors....before the dog ****s them up too.

Did it. Not all molded-in or anything, but it works.

I'm putting my speakers under the dash somewhere. Haven't really figured out how or where yet. But I will work on that sometime.

My parts car had them in the doors. It can be done but the depth is definitely a concern. I have power windows in my 2+2 dd and the parts car had manual. That may make a diff too.

I have some speakers in the front door..the stereo shop built a custom box and put like a 5' 1/4" speaker on the outside of the panel so yes it can be done.

Yeah, I do have to be careful sometimes. I probably could have mounted them maybe 3/8"-1/2" deeper if I were willing to cut a big hole in the door panel. But I didn't want to ruin my door panels any further, nor expose the back of the speakers to the hollow, dusty door interior. As they are, they're effectively in a sealed box, compared to if the back of the speakers were in the hollow door.

i had an idea!
i have the rigid map pockets in both my doors and what if i chopped some out of another z and flipped them over, fassened them together cut a hole in the front of the map pocket and close of the side (would want part of the pocket still) cut a hole in the interior pannel behind the speaker and the "box" the 2 pockets on top of each other and fancy up!

might be a good time to redo the door pannels but i need to get some other things (head liner) back in before i get to something that drastic and before i do that i need to get better
