Front Air Dam

Anyone have the Fiberglass Air Dam from MSA on their 280zx? I want to see how it looks since MSA is too lazy to post anything but a crappy front view pic from 20 years ago.

No, no, you have the one that also replaces your bumper cover. I mean this one...

I've got the one that has the brake ducts. Well, right now it's currently off the Z, but it'll be back on soon enough. My cardomain site has pics of it when it was installed though.

Hahaa, looks nice! I see you have the urethane one, any difference in shape between that one or the Fiberglass one? Whats the difference between the two materials anyway? BTW love the SSR meshs, and is the exhaust a Megan Racing M-N1? And what size are the XR4s and with what size tire? Sorry for so many questions but I really liked your Z! If itll be easier for you to PM me just do that then, thanks!

Fiberglass = Sheets over woven fiber material dipped in a resin glue & shaped to form objects. It's very rigid, but can crack / break under pressure.

Urethane = Hard rubber compound. Bends when hit (opposed to breaking / exploding if fiberglass).

I went with urethane due to the issue of fiberglass which NismoPick answered the part of the fiberglass vs urethane. And with my Z being lowered, I didn't want to risk cracking the front dam on one of the many lumpy roads here in SD. It scrapes leaving driveways and exits of grocery stores and that's even if I try to angle it. Ground clearance with the air dam is barely 2" if it's even that much. It's about as low as a GT car. Anyway, the XR4s are 15" and 6.5" width running 205/55 BFG G-force Sports tires. The SSRs are 16" and 8" wide running 245/50 Fuzion Zri tires.

The exhaust is a Megan N1 exhaust, it was cheaper than buying a can from HKS or Apex'i. If I could do it all over again though, I would go with a quieter exhaust setup as this one is pretty loud without the silencer in. Sounds like a UPS truck at idle to me.

man that thing is low. looks really good, you should get your linky thing working from here to your site. your lucky that your airdam is tucked further towards the wheels than mine, the more it sticks out the more stuff you hit at less of an angle, mine 5" off the ground and it is right out at the front of the car, i hit everything, only prob. is, its aluminum hard to fix

Try to avoid painting it if you can. There isn't enough flex agent on the planet to keep the paint from cracking and flaking off at some point in the future...
