Garbageman

Just recently signed up! I had a 1979 280zx long ago, but had to let it go when the kids came. Now, I recently purchased a 1982 280zx turbo, from the original owner. A project in the making. Am looking for some interior trim pieces, and for the best choice for a rear window louver and side window louvers. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hey man welcome to the Z family! And I am sure Carl is the one to talk to about louvers. He has them on the back, and the side rear windows. I do have rear louvers, that were on my '81 280zx. The just need painting and the hardware for the top part. I do have the big screw that go on the bottom. Anyway once again congratulations, on your new ZX!

Welcome.

Im pretty sure Victoria British sells louvers and maybe MSA does too. Here are some websites that will be helpful.

www.victoriabritish.com and www.zcarparts.com

that's a nice step up from the 79 N/A. hope you enjoy it

That's cool you want to go with the louvers. I don't want them on my Z, but the ones that do have them (i.e. CarlsZ) look freakin sweet

I have the factory style rear louvers for sale. They bolt to the hatch around the outside of them glass.
I even have a 1980 factory dealer catalog and it shows those louvers.

Not being familiar with the louvers, is yours aluminum? And if yours is bolted to the rear hatch, any problems with leaks? And how will they look with the side louvers, which I think are plastic vs. aluminum? Thanks.

They were on a parts car so I'm not sure if they leaked or not. They are not plastic but all rear louvers are painted black and usually look fine with black plastic side louvers.

Ok, then you sold me on your rear louver. How much do you want and how would you like to handle the transaction?
