WildmaN, I like the idea of putting the remote in the ash tray, hardwired to the head unit in the glove box. Thanks for the post.

Do they still make CBs? I'd rather be jammin!

of coarse there are still CB's trucks use em and junk still, so they distribute less power full ones (cheaper) to the public.

I have the original stock radio's in both my 280ZXT and my 240Z. I have "real" stereo's with RCA AUX inputs mounted in the glovebox. I ran the AUX RCA input wire into the ash tray on the 280ZX, just like WildMan and can plug it into my iPod wich can control the volume.

The ash tray also acts as a nice stand for the iPod too. It's within easy reach of the driver and even displays the album cover for the song that's playin...

The AUX input wire is just hangin down on the passenger side of the center console on my 240Z, but within easy reach of the driver's seat.

The power on the stock radios works as expected, but they aren't connected to any speakers. Keeps the stock look and I can control everything from my iPod. Unplug the iPod and close the glove box door and you would never know there's a decent stereo in the car.

Even my rear speakers are still hidden by the rear trim panels. I haven't added a speaker box and I don't expect too. I'll sacrifice the boom for the look.

Good luck!

L-Dub has the right idea. MP3s have replaced those big bulky CD changers. But I've always been a fan of the aftermarket stereo... I have built in SD card slot in mine so that's my plug-in MP3 collection right there. But I do have on display just what the theives want...
