Heater foam restoration
OK, antifreeze in both sides of my new carpet...why not leak when it was the old stuff! Anyway, heater box is sitting on the workbench and disassembled. Looking at all the doors that have rotted missing foam and rust I thought I'd clean them and add some new foam to quit down and seal the doors. Anyone done this? Was thinking 1/4 inch foam and headliner adhesive for the project. I realize headliners don't hold up that great and I have no clue how thick the original foam was; so if anyone has a better suggestion I'd love to hear it!

Home Depot
I used foam tape from the hardware store, they have types with adhesive on one side and different types of foam and rubberized foam, I also used a 2 sided adhesive tape, about 1/2 inch thick as gaskets between each section of the heater/ AC / blower. Here is a post I did for my 280zx, 1st page has a few pics of what I did with the foam tape https://www.zdriver.com/forums/280zx...-worthy-39110/

I didn't think about truck cap tape, I think I have some. PredatorZ I wish you had picks of the inside after that! Yours has the same heater control valve that mine had before I used a manual valve. I did it without removing the sensor under the hood. My fan switch kicks off and on unless it is on high. I think I'll remove the sensor and see what happens.
