Old Bumpers
Hi all -
I'm repainting my Z and thinking that the old faded bumpers might not look too good after its done... anyone know an easy way to make them spiffy again?
Also wondering, what's the best way to get the a-pillar trim on/off without breaking it?
Thanks,
Gen

the a pillar trim is easy to take off.. inside your car right above where the seat belt comes out.. theres a lil circular plig.. take that off and theres a 10 mm nut.. take that off.. thats the only nut that holds the trim.. then with a csrew driver... pry off the a pillar trim carefully so you dont break off the alignmet tabs.. it should just come off pretty easy.. and about your bumpers... well a good cleaning and then use armorall should do the trick..

McGuires makes a great product for restoring the look to your rubber. I don't rememner the exact name off the top of my head, but a friend of mine had some and put it on my old really weather beaten bumpers, and they looked almost new.
The A-pillar trim, I haven't messed with yet. So, I can't be too much help there.

Turtle wax has a product out. I forget what its called.... it basically restores anything that is black... its amazing. I used it on my bumpers last week and they are look'n spank'n new. it rained alot this week here in NYC and they didn't seem to fade at all. So I don't know if its a temp fix or what.. but I recommend it.

Thanks for the replies.... I think I will try the armorall first, then look around for the other stuff...
About the trim, I actually was referring to the pieces above the dash on the inside sides of the windshield, maybe they are called something else. They seem to break a lot and I don't want to break the new ones I am going to put in.
Thanks,
Gen
