Does it even fit a 280ZX or just a Z? The picture only shows the older body style.

How hard was it to put the hinges on? And to make so it will latch when closed. Or do you have to use some kind of pin system?

It looks pretty sweet, but it sounds like it has to be molded into the existing rear hatch and then a custom rear window fabbed up. It sounds awful expensive to do if that's how it's done.

Well I have seen pictures of the deck with pins holding it down and I have see pictures of the deck with no visible pins so I am not sure if you can use stock hinges and latch or if it will even lock at all.

I see what you are saying now! I am such an idiot! You take the glass out and the deck goes in the hole, now it all makes sense. Well that is going to be much easier than I thought. Thanks Heat Rave R and that is a bright Prelude you've got.

Hey thanks. I'm actually trying to sell the Prelude right now and will be buying a 280ZX shortly (hence, why I'm on this forum). Let us know if you find out any more about the installation process. It seems to me it'd be easier if they just made a one piece rear hatch placement instead of making us custom mold it into an existing hatch after removing the window.

Well the fiberglass won't be a problem the only thing I think can pose a problem is finding a hatch with no rust(ha!) or buying a new one. Or buying a fiberglass hatch and the pantera deck mold them together then install them on the car (and that would cost almost as much as the car did.). If I decide to do this I will definetly post before and after pics.
