removing paint from carbon fiber?
Hi guys,
This question is for everyone, but I was thinking JfairladyZ would have the most info. I picked up a carbon fiber hood very cheap, but someone has painted stripes on it. They did not clear coat over them however. I was wondering what is the best way to take off the paint without damaging the hood. I think wet-sanding is going to be best, but am totally open to suggestions. Thanks.

Crucial. Why spend all the money for a CF part just to paint over it. Yea, i would say wet sand with a medium grit and work your way up. Just make sure to use a block so as you dont make grooves.

Because its light and strong ... and is going to look retarded in "bare" trim unless the rest of your car's "bare" carbon fiber too.
Certainly wouldn't spend all that money just to get the look of CF when you can buy a decal roll for 1/20th of the price
