seat rails
cant find new seat rails for an 28 280 anywhere?? help anybody?? wanted to get a bucket seats for pass and driver.. but cant find anybody that carrys seat rail for it... any help?

of course not. These are not late model cars. companies do not support them quite like that. You take stock 280ZX seat rails, and drill holes in them to fit whatever bucket seats you have. Once the 280ZX rails are on the seats, it all bolts right into the car. That way you don't have to drill or modify the car itself.

As I went to install my Recaros using the stock seat rails, unfortunately, the Recaro bolt holes are just a bit wider than the stock rail holes, such that it's directly over part of the rail itself. I would've used a crossbar to rebolt the holes wider, but because it lines up over the rail itself (the edge, not a drillable part), I wouldn't be able to actually get any bolts in there.

You could use a flat piece of steel over the top and then weld that to the seat rails then drill the holes through that piece of steel. Then where the rail (or probably before you weld on the new piece of steel) you can cut out a big enough section of the rail that will allow you fit a bolt in there.

So am I missing something?? The car all ready came with bucket seats from the factory. Right?? Did the later models come with a bench seat or something??? What am I missing, and what the hell is he talking about??
