Side Vents?!?!?!?!?!?!

i have a 79 datsun 280zx and im wondering if anyone knows if the SIDE VENTS and functional??????????

There are no side vents. If you are referring to the stainless plate between the door window and wing window, then that is just a cover plate and does not vent any air in.
