Stereo 1980 question?

Stereo 1980 question?
I just recently received a 1980 10th anniversary edition Z and do not know a lot about them. I would like to replace the stereo system and put a newer stereo in it. However, I do not want the value of the car to go down or damage it in anyway. If it is possible I would like to be able to put the original stereo back in just in case I ever wanted to sell it. Also I want it to look nice and sound great. Does anyone have any suggestions on a stereo system that would fit in a 1980 with out doing damage or cutting any of the interior.

My suggestions:
Get a spare stereo console and set your original aside. Modify the spare to fit whatever radio you like. Run ALL NEW WIRES, DON'T CUT ANY FACTORY WIRES.
Think realistically what you want your stereo to be and do. How loud do you want it, How clean sounding do you want it?
Honestly and this is quite late 80's but you can simply run a head unit, an EQ, an amp and one mean *** pair of 3 way 6x9's and have really good sound.
