Ok...maybe I'm stupid, maybe I just forgot. On my '83 n/a, there is a toggle switch just above my right knee and below the cruise control switch where the dash bends toward the pedals.

What's that for?? I know someone had the same question about a year ago, but I can't find it in the archives. Just curious, 'cause it doesn't really seem to do anything.

 

Are you talking about the little switch that says "Pull to Open"? If so then it opens the floor vent.

 

No.....this switch is a black switch with a white dot, similar to (but not) the cruise control on/off switch. My Z has the automatic climate control so, no manual stuff there.....'cept for the slides.

I could take a pic later, if that would help.

 

the only other switch that looks like the cruise is the rear defroster

 

I'll take a pic and post it. I think it may be a left over from the previous owners alarm system.

 

Nevermind..........I had the dash apart for the first time in ten years and I remembered that it was a switch that a previous owner installed for some reason, and it's not being used. Now I have one for some fog lamps!!!!!
