update on painted interior
thought I would share this with you all in case no one has tried it before...
here in Vancouver we have a spray on truck bed-liner business called Rhino linings...their product is very hardy, is resistent to surface scratches and can go on smooth or textured. It has almost a rubbery-plastic texture. lots of people here use it as an underbody coating so its definately strong. adheres best to metal but can be applied to plastic with some prep (worse come to worse you can drill holes in the surface to be sprayed and have it sprayed from both sides so the spray bonds with itself from both sides to make a good strong hold. I have done some research with them and they will do any interior panel, even carpet on the door panels for $7CDN /square foot. I dont know about having the carpet sprayed cause I dont think I would like the texture that will show through. they have several designer colours including black, white, red, blue, gray and green and will do custom mixing as well. they have not done a two tone job so far but seem confident that it can be done with little trouble other then drying time in between sprays....i believe it would be a good alternative to enamel that can peel or crack and definately scratch. just something to ponder for anyone who wants an interior colour change.
