where to get louver mounting grommets

So I have been looking around for The grommets that the louvers bolt onto when there attached to the car, but I can't find them, The previous own lost one or two of them when he decided to remove the louvers and replaced them with... Wire nuts! So, anybody know where to get those little Grommets with the metal screw threads inside?

I'm sure no one sells them alone. You'd have to buy a new louver kit, or make up your own attachments like the PO.

Not sure why you want louvers anyway... they are noisy, big, and will end up causing rust on your hatch. Save yourself the headaches and get the hatch glass professionally tinted.

This.

Otherwise, you'll need a new kit.

Or get lucky and find a set at the salvage yard.

PO means Previous owner. And try a hardware store for the grommets, and bolts. I know of somebody in the past, that had louvers. That got some grommets, and hardware for his louvers. Until not long after, I convinced him to take them off. Those were one of the first things to come off my Z's. I have owned 2 Z's with the louvers. And couldn't stand them, and they were bulky and heavy, and noisy. Anyway, to each his own.

Ok, just saw this old thread about louvers. Were you talking about the screws that fit at the bottom and allow the louvers to raise? If so I might be able to point you out a lead.

Edit Ok, I found where I had the parts numbers listed. I bought mine from http://www.aircraftspruce.com/ and another pilots supply house a couple of years ago.It seems that airplane compartments use the same screws that the louvers do.I had to buy them in paks of something like 10ea at the time. I also had the advantage of being able to drive the car over and show them what I was looking for! I was only missing one side. Hope this helps.
