where to get weather striping

I went to the nissan dealer but he says that it will cost me 130.00 per door for the stuff and 30.00 for the hatch! I love my car and all but I dont want to spend 290 on sealing it. where do you guys get it from? or is there any other car that I can buy it for that will be able to match up?

thank you in advance

I don't know if someome gave you this info, but if not try Victoria British Ltd. They will send you a free catalog by calling 1-800-255-0088. I have seen other catalogs but this company seems to be more reasionable than others I have seen. I have purchased several items & they sent quickly & items arrive safe. Good luck man.

the 130 per door sounds about right... i know its a lot of money but sometimes you jsut have to bite the bullet on that one.. i rememer when i had to change mine and i spent close to that amount for them.. remember this car is over 20 years old and in another 5 years youll wish you paid that $130 cuz by then you wont be able to find that part anywhere...

man that is just 2 crazy that it runs that high. I will have to take a piece of it to see if i can get anything that is even close and cut it to length. I cant afford almoste 300 just to seal the air leak between the car and window.

and no not a t-top

I read on Zcar.com someone using door seals from a Hyndi Excel and they worked. Also this place http://www.mcmaster.com/ on page 3214 has varius seals that might work just have to look at them and see what you think......

Here's a thought, but someone should chime in if it's actually a bad idea that's been tried. Some years ago, my dad had a Chrysler Cordoba that needed weatherstipping around the doors. He checked with Chrysler and they also wanted some astronomical price per door. I suggested we check with JC Whitney and we were able to match up the STRAIGHT portions of stripping for about $12 per door, but we did have to use the old corners, which wasn't so bad at that point. I'm not sure if they would have anything matching a Z's stripping configuration, but it may be worth a shot...

Hope this helps...

Good idea, but the whole T-tops thing really makes it difficult.... but still it might work.

MSA seems to have better prices, but it's hard to understand what your getting, Like for my T-Tops, I'd have to buy a left front edge and a left rear edge, which isn't bad as far as price, but I'm wondering if that would go all the way down to the door, or stop at the T-Top edge?? And then the doors appear to be one piece. No pics, unfortunately...
