Wood Interior Accents / Console

Hey all - I was brainstorming yesterday (yes, it takes 24 hours to recover from the headache before I can type again ... ) and wondered what the Z would look like with gray carpet (VictoriaBritish), black seats (racing buckets), and black dash, and the center console made out of a reddish-stained pine or something ...
I want to build a center console with a cup holder or two, a flip-lid like stock, and have it mold around the shifter and boot, and then up towards the center of the dash, where it would widen and extend into the footwells. I would relocate the stereo and HVAC controls slightly, as well as the center air vents. It would also house the power mirror controls, as well as aircraft toggle switches for whatever (fog / driving lights, I suppose).
I got the idea mainly from my friend's Lex LS400, and it looks like a really nice combo. And I can get rid of that old pine bookshelf in the carport ... I'll have sketches up on my site soon, if I ever finish it.

Any opinions, or comments? Please let me know what 'yall think!

It might look ok. I'm not really into the wood look for a sports car.
...how are you doing on your rust and dent repair?

New fenders will be on as soon as I get a paycheck ... and there's primer over freshly ground-off rust spots. New T-tops are on the way as well.
I'm mainly looking for something easy to work with, and yields a decent finished product. Wood was what I was looking for. I'll have sketches posted by tonight, as well as my LED taillight idea.
