280zx Coil-overs
alright i have been readin and just curious do the MR2 87-89 struts that can be used on 1st gen z's work on 2nd gen as well when sectioning and needing the shorter strut??
and what is needed to connect back to the top shock tower??
as i will be doing this in less than a month.
does the rear involve using the front strut and welding to it to make a perch etc what are the details in this aspect of the install?
i know 1st gen z suspension gains neg camber as it compresses then when lowered can obtain positive camber in turns etc. does the zx do this too and where should i redrill the hole for the a-arm?
if out there where could i find 280zx camber adjusters?
in sense i just need a nice pretty write up regarding coil-overs on 280zx's and sectioning of the struts on them. i have the sport z magazine 7 issues there explanation on sectioning for coil-overs explained a lot but not everything.please any input is appreciated.
once i get all my answers and complete this i will write a wonderful tech article or somin to share for those zx enthusiasts out there that feel they are being left out and the first gen z gets all the attention.
but hey my 240z does need to be driven too
thanx in advance

As far as I know...no. I've asked about this awhile back...I guess there's not enough interest in it. Also I heard ZF racing stop production for now on all parts, but that's just hear say. I know I'm still interested. But I'm going with the coil-overs from modern-motorsport...hope to get those soon.

do you know of anyone who produces bump steer spacers for the 280zx
or adjustable control arms
i figure i will use z31 front struts for the front of my 280zx and section 1.5" then use the 280zx front struts on the rear
i plan on buying the coil-overs from modern-motorsports as well here pretty soon
i just need to figure out how to adjust my camber and to prevent gaining positive camber during suspension travel then all that will stand in my way is my little friend $$$$

You might want to check with MSA (Motorsport Auto) or Victoria British on the bump steer. As for the adjustable control arms...I wish I knew...sorry. The coil-over or any coil-overs for that matter...expect to wait awhile to get them. Modern-motorsports has to make them and if you get them from Ground-Control the same applies to them. Check Ground-Control's website for other suspension parts...they have quite a few. I haven't checked them out in awhile, though. Good luck.

Well, in my case I still haven't gotten them yet, but am keeping close contact with Ross. I'd say it's been about three months now. But I told him it wasn't a hurry and to take his time, cuz you know I want it done right. Which reminds me...I should e-mail him again.
