I was being facetious. My 16's probably weigh 10lbs less than his 18's and I know my motor is bigger. What's more important, the size of the shoes or the size of the motor...?

Nice shoes definitely make a man look good, but when you flip out that big 3.1L johnson with a blower wrapped around the pipe... We'll, you get my meaning...

Those 15's I had were very light. I can tell the difference in weight with accelerating and breaking... but I love the look.
The turbo engine should get me to and from work just fine. Besides, Rod and I have been driving our cars for the last few years... wuzzzup!!!

speaking of turbo engines, I better get back out to the garage... Z-ya!

With the major decrease in sidewall size, I bet you can sure feel the added stiffness through the twisties though.

I could feel the stiffness when I put in the new ST springs and struts... but just chaning the wheels themselves didn't seem to make a noticable difference in normal driving vibrations or stiffness... now going over really rough road like railroad tracks or speed bumps; yes, I can really tell. I slow way down now as not to bend a rim on a stupid speed bump.

my garage was a mess, and I spent the last two days clearing stuff out. I even stored some junk in the house to give myself more room in the garage. Tonight I start putting on the last couple turbo L28 items. hoses, blockoff plates. Then start draining tranny fluid in the morning... I'm working on it!

oh, gotta get more batteries for the camera too

oh crap, I just remembered I need to run this thing through emissions check before I pull the non-turbo engine out... just to be safe! hehe...

Damn Bleach... I gotta say, those new wheels are dead sexy!

They look so good, I almost forgot the fact that your car is a 2+2

J/K

Actually, it looks like your wheel wells are filled in better than mine. How thick is your hub adaptor?

I'm also puzzled by how LITTLE negative rear camber you have, considering the fact that your car actually looks lower than mine does. How'd you swing that?

Rod.

well thank you! I like them very much, even more than the other wheels I was going to get but those ended up being out of production.

They are 8 inch wide so they are an inch wider than yours. The offset is 38mm, the adaptors are 45mm thick. So its like running yours with a 7mm spacer ring, plus a half inch more outter lip.

As for the rear, I'm not sure. It looks about the same height as I had it before which is about an inch drop from stock. (sagging springs before the ST install) The front has 1.5" ball joint spacers which helps a little with camber.

If you look at the car from the back, the rear is cambered more than the front. I don't see any visable toe out though which is good. I do want the rear dropped more later, but I think I'll have to get that rear crossmember slotted first.

How did I fix my common sagging rear on my 1981 Z back when i had one?

Saturn SC2 front springs.. Can't remember the exact car model, I think it was SC2. perfect fit in rear of a Z. raised me one inch, and had a perfect ride. this was in 1992-93 when i worked at a shop. We had access to a lot of take off springs..
