300zx wheels

Hey guys. Does the 280zx and the 300zx have the same lug patterns? I'm getting the title to the 280zx that's been sitting in my yard for a year and a half finally (Damn last owner never had the frickin thing signed to his name), and I need tires so I'm thinking of taking the rims & tires off of my 85 300zx 2+2 non turbo and putting them on the 280.

84 300zx's still had the 4 lug patern. I believe they switched to 5 lug in 85... or 86? But the backspacing or offset will be diff than the 280zx

You are right and wrong at the same time Nismo. '84 and '85 had 4 lug wheels unless it was a turbo. Turbo's had the 5 lug wheel. In '86, they went to 5 lug on all models.

The 84 - 85 4 lug 300ZX wheels have a +33mm offset. So you'd need a spacer of at least 20mm to make them clear your strut towers and then you'd need longer studs... and then you'd run the risk of breaking your new studs with that monster spacer in there.

Or you could get a set of wheel 'adapters' for about $250 that would work, but if you do that, you'd be better off going to a Honda pattern for the much greater variety and availability.

Alright thanks guys. I think I'll just stick with stock rims for now, but thanks for the info.
