differential questions

How do you know when your differential is bad. Went to Z Car ATL and the guys there told that my differential mount is going bad. I wanted to know if this problem comes back after its fixed how will I know. Any suggestions welcome.

if you have that clunk when you shift then your mount is bad...

I have developed a bad clunk in the rear of my 280zx since lowering it. It is worst under acceleration and above 60km/h. i wont take it above that until its fixed as it feels like the *** end is going to fall out! i hope it only a mount...any ideas?
