Has anyone driven a Z without a rear sway bar?

I'm curious how this will affect handling. I've run into two problems concerning my rear bar ...

1) The driver side end links broke off in my hand when I was taking it off a while back. So, that's one more thing I'd have to spring for, unless it can wait until I get a suspension package.
2) When I installed my exhaust UNDER the diff and suspension, I didn't have the bar installed, and therefore have no room for it. I've got a fat, 2.5" pipe and hanger right in the way.

My old '79 Rx7 passed inspection without a rear bar, so I'm not worried about failing the visual, I'm mostly concerned about handling. Will no bar make the car ***-happy? Or will it be the opposite [less twitchy freeway ride], like my Rx7?

All input, questions, comments, beligerant statements are welcomed, and much thanks in advance!

In theory you will get more rear grip without a rear bar. Would depend to some degree on the general condition of the suspension, but I have no experience with ZX's. Why not take it for a drive and see what you think?

I dont know about other states, but in NC cars are not required to have a rear sway bar to pass inspection.

Maybe he means inspection at race events.

I appreciate the input guys!

I would take it for a drive, but seeing as she's not registered or insured, and has no clutch ... yeah.

I figured, if anything, that I would have more grip back there. I guess I'll just keep it off until I pass inspection, then mod my exhaust to clear the bar when its installed.

Eventually, I plan on a nice set of Suspension Techniques sway bars, Urethane bushings, and a Tokico or Eibach spring/strut combo. But that's a ways off, given the financial situation.

Again, thanks for the input guys!

Usually if you drop the rear bar then the handling would benefit from heavier rear springs.

But, the joys of sorting out a ZX are still to come for me, s30 yes.
