tow hook, woot! S130 79
not to be one of those guys messing up the boards with rice-mode questions but anyone know of a good solid place to mount a front tow hook besides attached to the stock front hook loop?
don't tell me to take it off, I like the look
thanks

It would have to be a really long hook if you wanted it to be seen, because the bumpers extend 7 miles from the body. don't take it anywhere if your just going to make it cosmetic, just JB weld that hook on somewhere, and if you do it right you can make it look like a real weld

You would actually put the tow hook where the factory tow hooks are located or if you have the front bumper off you would mount one where a bumper shock mounts. Keep in mind this is really only done for racing & only because regulations specify for a tow hook inlet of minimum 2" diameter & to be readily accessable for track workers to access - meaning not tucked away underneath body panels.

lol nismopick
funny
since that went over well
maybe I'll just custom fab some ****. kinda like the first thing that 69gnose said
I currently have it attached to the loop on the stock hook
but its going to be in the way of my fogs
hence the question
and to be honest I would like it to be functional

Ah...
Just buy a 350Z bumper and install it on the 280ZX.

And yes, hooks on the track are still rice, because it tells people you don't know how to drive and need to be pulled out. Plus a majority of bolt on tow hooks aren't approved by the SCCA or NASA.
