Z31

Ok. I am starting the Z31 swap. I am going to start in the rear. I want to transplant as much as possible over. I would love to just swap the entire rear end. I see that the 87 does not have coil over as the 83 does. this could be a problem. at the very least. the rear end, and breaks. whats the Pro's/Con's for the coil over vrs them seprate? I want the entire crossmember in the 87, the mounts are the same. but i don't know about if they will line up. I think the 87 rear end will be better. fewer miles. and i have the R180 in my 83 right now. the 87 is a 3:54 vrs my 3:90. i do alot of interstate driving also.

I thought the 3:90 was only in the R-200? Good luck with the swap man.

Your gonna have trouble with the shock/spring combo from the z31 I would think. I'd take the diff, axles, stub axles/companion flanges and brakes rotors and calipers) from the z31 and ditch the crossmember and control arms. There is no advantage over the s130. All that stuff will bolt into the s130. Make sure to put in new bushings for the diff mount and poly in the control arms and you're good. Check my cardomain for pics, i've started doing the above. Good luck.
