280zx vs. corvette?
#26
I think the real point here is. Even thought the Corvette may be some fast fancy car, the Z is what will be recognized on the street. Not another Corvette. I always chuckle everytime I see a Corvette driver just staring at my Z trying to figure out what it even is. I've seen a couple who's head just starts staring at my car mid turn. My car may not run faster, but it definitely turns more heads in awe. Plus as someone said I paid a good lot less.

we got a 1st gen rx7 with a 425 hp 350 in it, its fast but traction really is difficult. even with slicks, and a posi. just cause your car has power, doesnt mean it will handle it, remember, your tires are the only part of the car that touches the road.

How about that NOS Energy Drink? how much power do you think that'll add?

sugar does work. my friends entire fuel system had to be replaced cause somebody had it out for him. he ended up scrapping the truck. it was a beater so it would have cost him more to repair than buy another vehicle. it just gums up anything that is small like injectors, fuel filter, dampers, regulators and if theres enough, the lines

Heres the way Ive learned to reply to these situations. This car is 24 years old. And Even with its age still probaly rides better than his corvette. Has more room than his corvette. And is officialy a classic unlike his corvette. Anyasshole can go buy a new sports car, it takes a true enthusiast to own a classic

well at least it's not 4G63 powered but, it could still be the V6 model in which case I think he would take you unless it's an automatic, or a stick with a terrible driver.
Edit: Wait, you're turbo aren't you hmm you could probably get him, . . I think

Yeah I was talking about the newer ones well not brand new but id say 85ish to 95ish. That whole period where it seemed like GM simply didnt give a damn.
For what they cost and the limited versatility of the vehicle Im just not very impressed. Granted alot of the older corvette's are fine automobiles and even the new Zo6's are very impressive with a unreal 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. However I dont think they really started beefing the vette's back up until the late 90's. Or maybe im wrong But will never know until someone tells me. I was always a camaro man, So I only know vette by experience through comparison. The mid 80's to mid 90's camaro and corvette was ragged for good reason. They simply didnt have it.

The internet is also a great tool to research other cars... www.google.com is a wonderful resource! You can find out what other cars' 1/4 mi & 60 sec time is... and compare it to the Z! WOW!

Quad cam V8 put in the Vette from the late 80's to mid 90's. Granted... not all Vettes are ZR1's, but lets put this 280ZX vs VETTE to rest eh?

I thought it was actualy seldom that they put that engine in. Reguardless I agree with you nis, These cars were some of the most luxurious cars of there time. And still hold a very unique look. Besides when girls become women they care less about how fast it is and more about how hard it works
