280zxt ecu's needed...
Bad news every one.. the 83 280zxt that i bought came with a blue Bosch coil...part number 0-221-119-027 do not use this part ! it blew my 82 ecu right when i turned the key.. maybe it was defective.. i figured out now why the 83 didnt start.. bad coil.. must of fried the dissy and the spark plug wires and the ecu ? never the less now i need to buy a 82 ecu turbo 5 speed and a 83 ecu turbo 5 speed... plus a stock coil...SIGH......

nope i put back the coil that came on the 83 280zxt its a small LIGHT BLUE COIL.. i tried to turn the 83 over and nothing... so i took out my 82 ecu out of the 83 tried to put it back into my 82 and now my 82 wont start.. the only other thing i can think of is that the blue ecu was bad or the wrong type for a turbo car... i cheked autozone.. the bosch coil they call for is WAYYYYY differant that this blue on i have in my hand... sigh..... both ecus dont work..

The 280zx turbo coil is different from the other nissan coils because the coil driver is different and offers up a different voltage than the non-turbos.
This reminds me of the people who put bosch blue coils on a porsche that has a permatune box.
I doubt the ecu is gone since I have only seen two bad nissan ecus in many years of working on nissans and only a couple more since I began working on ecus for Blue streak/Standard Motor products.

i belive if there was a wrong coil. differance size or power it would blow the power esistors inside the ecu.. if i could send u the 83 280zxt ecu witch i do belive is burnt why i say that is becuase when i hook up the car battery numbers 5 and 6 fuel injectors seem to turn on with out me even turning on the key.. ? my 82 ecu still doesnt want to work.. any ideas ?

yes i have a factory service manual.. i even have my friend with his 82 280zxturbo over hear right now him and i are taking out his ecu his coil and his distributor to check to see if thats it or not.. is there any way say if the fuel injectors clips were in the wrong order the car wouldnt start ? ok hear s the deal the guy who i bought the 83 from told me that some one criss crossed the car battery wires.. thats why i belive the ECU is burnt..

your coil DID NOT blow your ECU. Case closed. I dont know where you got that notion from. Unless you were actually foolish enough to feed the secondary coil tower wire directly into the ECU (and no, this cannot be done by mistake ).
Reversing the coil wires wont really do anything either. Worst case scenario is the coil output is cut down to about half of what it should be. It wont fry anything or cause the car not to start.
have you checked your fuse links??? Maybe you shorted something out of fried a fuse link or two.
Now I'm not saying you didn't blow your ECU. I'm just saying your coil didn't blow it. I'm not going to give any suggestions to try either though cause to be quite honest, and dont take this the wrong way, but I'm not comfortable asking you to mess with any of the electronics on your car. Sorry.

LOL ... were is the fuse links ? jafiarladyz no hard feelings " you know like in school " you can only learn as u go... and this is learning.. u know im not perfect and i dont know everything... but can u tell me were the fusable links are located ? i know were the relays are.. i know were the fuse box is...

those wires are the fuse links. When one gets over heated the wire inside the insulation melts. Cars now come with maxi fuses which replaced fuse links. You'll need an ohmmeter to check them. When it melts it will lose continuity. Sometimes the insulation itself will melt and will be an obvious sign something is wrong.

Nope none of them are burnt or anything... question the 82 ecu and the 83 ecus are differant so the wireing must be different.. i checked the wire harness on my 82 and the wires are differant from the 83.. thats why i bought that ECU wire harness off ebay.. i will let yall know how it goes when it gets hear i hope everything turns out great... i really want to drive a digital dash 280zx... " i want to see the numbers rise from 1 to 85... ? " sorry i had seen a mid 80's z-31 with a digital dash and i fell in love with Z cars after that..

Which wires were different? the 82-83 turbos should be the same. I've swapped quite a few 82-83 turbo ecus before.... never had a prob.
And sorry to break it to ya, but the digi dash sucks. It looks cool, but doesn't cut it at all from a performance aspect.
