Check the AFM, CHTS, O2 sensor, TPS, and fuel pressure.

well boys and girls, it was the distributor. i finally forked out the cash for a new one and it runs great! thanks for all your help

i had the same problem with my 1982 280zxt i replaces " thermotime " switch water temp sender oil temp sender cold start valve then the final problem " i needed a new distributor ! argh !

sorry to drag up this old thread but i wanted to close it out for future searches. fixed the problem with a new distributor and air idle control valve.

if its having hot start problems after it heats up from being driven for a while then it might be the coolant temp. sensor, if the car turns on and off normally during cold start then im pretty sure the coolant temp sensor is your problem, its only like 40 bucks worth the shot but also clean your Sensor connections
