79 ZX Won't Start
I have this old lady that is need of some major TLC. But here is my problem.. It has been sitting for 10 years. It was parked because it quit running and no one ever tried to fix it. I have spark but it appears that I am not getting fuel. How do I check to see if the pump is working? How do I tell if the injectors are working?
I loosened the hoses on the fuel line. The filter is passing gas through it but nothing is coming out of the lines when I turn over the motor..
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks I appreciate any help you can give me.

starting fluid
if you get in the bad habit of using starting fluid too often, your car wont start so quick latter down the road, it forms like a cruch for the engin if you will. but yea it might help at first. after you have your tank cleaned go to Napa and get a can of sea foam gas treatment to put in the tank with the gas to clean out any of the trash that might have made it thoug. bare in mink seafoam is a highly potent cleaning substance, if you do get it runing, the seafoam will nock all that trash out and it may start runing like **** for a will do to the trash being nocked loos. so be ready for some good old cleaning.

Buy a new filter or temporarily bypass the filter. run the fuel line past the filter straight to the fuel rail.
Don't drive like that, just try it to see if it starts up. Maybe use starting fluid too.
Later on, put in new fuel hose (for fuel injection, not cheap carb line) a new filter, and new spark plugs. You should not need starting fluid with that.
