'83 280zxt Running issues
Hey, I am new to the forums here but have gotten lots of help from reading treads here since getting my car. I purchased a 1983 280zx Turbo 5 speed a few months back and have been having some issues with it lately. The problem is that whenever I attempt to accelerate, the car backfires and will not accelerate, it bogs down and the RPMs will not climb. Before replacing the fuel filter a few days ago, the car would not start without me revving it as I turned the ignition and would not idle until the car warmed up. With the new fuel filter, the car idles much better and does not require me revving to cold start. The car starts and idles well, and even will run through first and second gear well at first, but once I hit third gear the car begins to sputter and backfire, and will buck and the RPMs will not climb. Even after stopping and beginning to go again in first gear, the car will no longer smoothly sail through first and second gears. Any possible help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. What could this be?
Let me know if there is any other information that I can provide.
Thanks guys

Welcome to ZDriver!
Try disconnecting the TPS plug. If it gets water or moisture in it, the car won't rev.
Also, what's the timing set to?
Have you read the plugs?
Checked the CHTS and AFM and connections?
