your best bet is to do the whole turbo conversion... you cant just go out there and buy a turbo manifold and turbo and slap it on and call it good... well you can but its not recomended... the compression on the N/A motor is too high to run boost over 10 psi without blowing your motor.. best thing to do is go to a junk yard fiind a 280ZX turbo get the whole engine with the wire harness and fuel pump and do the swap..

yeah see the problem is i dont have the riches of spoils. I was thinking what if i lower the boost to like 5psi would that work? I estimate that i get 30hp from that im not looking to gain 500hp i just want something to give the comp a run for its money if you know what i mean but any other suggestions?

If all you want is 30hp, you can get that by doing some mods to your NA engine and drivetrain.

Put in a new cam, do some intake and exhaust work and put in a 4.11 rear.

That'll raise your hp and torque more than 30 at the wheels.

Most times people expect to do that work and they want 220hp out of their NA engine. You've got around 145 wheel hp with your current engine if its running in perfect condition. Its not at all hard to get another 25-35 hp out of it. (180) But 200+ is a lot more work.
