over on hybridz.org they got SR20's, Rb twinturbo, LS1, L28et , I heard of a hyabusa engine, and the one you are lookin for of course would be the BMW V12 twin turbo making 800 some odd horsepower to the wheels.{stock} I would say that is as big as you can go..

I've seen pictures of a 454 in a 280Z, and a Twin Turbo 350 V8.... as for BIG engines.

But a 6-cyl turbo is just as fast or faster. Those big engines are heavy and require a lot of extra structural support to the chasis.

I have even heard about people putting 426 hemis in a Z. Talk about a deathwish! But a 12 cylinder man I bet that would scoot!

ok i see how lots of v8's are put in and all but wouldnt it be a lot easier to pump out more horses with the 8's instead of the I6. and i posted this before how much horsepower can you get from a stock non turbo 280 how much to you guys think without turbocharging

But don't forget that although it's cheaper to get horsepower out of a V8, it becomes expensive in reinforcing the chassis and drivetrain to handle that much.

I suppose along the same lines, if you're going to have a 600hp V8 or a 600hp turbo L6 you still need a stronger car. Either way, high horsepower means even more money spent in other areas.

The non-turbo L6 can be gotten up to about 200 whp and still be maintainable for daily driving. You can make engine that revv higher and put down 250hp but they usually are made for a few races and then rebuilt.

The turbo six with stock internals can handle about 350whp.

I would like to see a 350z with a twin turbo, in a 240 or 280zx! I think that would be one of the best engines you could put in your z.

Ok, Here's my .02 cents
The best combo I have ever seen was Scotties Grand National powered Z. A light weight V6 Turbo with alot of punch. The car will run 10's all day without serious mods to the body. Remember POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO! I'll stick with my Turbo in my 300 and the L28 will always be in my 280ZX! I'm sort of a purist but I do enjoy engine swaps, just have to be tasefully done.

Check out http://hybridz.org and Turbo Meister's car under the videos section. Chevy 350 custom to hell carbed twin turbo. That has to be one of, if not the fastest z's out there. It would give Darius's z a run for the money if not win. Video's are of 1/8 mile runs cause he's too darn fast and gets banned from 1/4's. It has said that his time in 1/8's is equiv to running high 9's in the 1/4! Look for yourself and make up your own mind.

the viper v10 would kick so much *** in the z car cause the engine dont really weight much and your talking about 500 hp so that ought to be a fast *** car.
