brake lights not coming on

so i just picked up another zx after crashing my old 79. this one is a 80 and the brake lights will not come on! i looked at the brake switch and they are there but there are two and my 79 only had one after putting some bolts to plug the hole the lights still wont come on... the brake switches are pluged in but still nothing, need to find the relays and fuses for them so see if they are good but i dont know which ones to look at...

Does the warning display (box between speedo and tach) light up red when you press on the brake pedal?
Have you checked to make sure the correct bulbs are being used?
Have you checked the voltage at the bulbs?

i did the system check and checked the bulbs both where ok. i thought i could use the brake switch outta my old z but the new one i got has two brake switches and my old one only had one... so idk might just buy new switches and see if that fixes the problem

I had the same problem with my 80zx. It turned out to be the fuses down by the passenger side. It was easy for me because it was the only fuse missing. But i would say visually scan your fuses and see which ones look burnt out
