1982 280zx Turbo 2+2
Since 81 - 83 turbos are all the same physical setup... it doesn't matter the year... and lots of people have put IC's on their 280zxt.... try Google Images, it works wonders. I have some pics on my cardomain page about my IC install.

There are several IC kits for the 280zxt for the nice price of $1k - $2k.... which is obsurd since you can buy big *** IC's on ebay for $200 these days, or $50 from junk yards. You will need to use your own skills to fab up the piping, or have someone do it for ya.

Easiest way: Buy some mandrel bends from ebay, and weld them together to make them connect up...

Cheapest way go like stated above, I done the same. Bought and NPR intercooler off ebay for $250, ordered mandrel bends from JCW and fabed ever thing myself. Its not that hard if you can weld your own pipes up......

I just painted the stock J-pipe. That's better than any intercooler! oh ya... Maybe I'll put a sticker on it too.

This isn't brain surgery... just buy some pipes, connections, and an IC that will allow easy hook up, and install. There are lots of pics on the internet about 280zxt ic installs.

Pull the radiator and AC condensor if you have one.

If your Intercooler has the inlet and outlet on the same side, cut the hole on the driver side big enough for the intake to the turbo and both the inlet and outlet for the intercooler. This can be a VERY tight fit and you will need to be VERY careful about how big the piping is you end up using to make this work.

One 'short-cut' that used to be used back in the day, was to put the air filter right on or nearly right on the intake side of the turbo behind the radiator. This way, you only have 2 pipes going through the radiator support.

The best way, is to have your IC inlet and outlet on opposite sides of the core that way you only have to run two pipes through the driver side and one pipe through the passenger side of the radiator.

This can make it harder to route the pipe back to the intake manifold though since it has to cross in front of the motor somewhere.
