Custom Downpipe Questions...

After looking at my turbo I see that the exhaust side is a 4 bolt pattern to the downpipe. After seeing this I decided to look for some parts so a custom downpipe could be made. I remember reading that NismoPick said in order for a 3" pipe to fit between the 4 bolts then you have to use a 2 1/2" to 3" pipe like lifegaurdude did or something like that. Well, I found a flange that is 4 bolts for the T/3 and it has a 3 inch hole. This same place has stainless steel gaskets, also for the same flange...below are the pics. So what I am thinking is I take this flange and the O2 sensor bung to a muffler shop an I should be good right?

If that flange has the same bolt patern as the 280zx turbocharger, it should fit. You should ask the seller for the hole measurements and check them.

Isn't a 4 bolt T/3 a 4 bolt T/3?...or are there different 4 bolt patterens for the T/3?

I will have to look into this a bit more, let me ask you this Nismo...was your flange that you made, were the bolt holes the same distance...diagonally from corner to corner? Edit, I have seen 5 bolt 4 bolt and 3 bolt....all the 4 bolts I saw were the same distance, squared.

No, the holes are closer from top to bottom, than side to side:

Yeah, I have been going ***** to the wall trying to find one now....no luck....time for a rethink of my situation....perhaps just a new exhaust for now will do the trick. After all, there is actually nothing wrong with my stock downpipe so I am sure it will last a bit longer till NismoPick stops being a peckerhead and makes me one <---NismoPick

Last I heard, there was some kind of issue where they wouldn't clear the BW T5 transmission on the stock 280ZX turbo models.

You can buy the flange from the guy directly. It's a 2.5" flange. Look for "PeteZ downpipe" on google and he should be on the first page of the query. There is one seller on ebay who sells the correct 3" flange, but I can't remember their screen name offhand.

PeteZ has some posts on different forums. I found no business website. It sounds like he was just making downpipes in his shop but very good quality ones for S30 cars. Nowhere did I see a 280ZX application.

I guess you can email him if you want. He sold the 240Z turbo.

Pete definately did make some good quality stuff well he was making them. He used my car to test fit his downpipes on a ZX and no he never made one for the ZX
Heres a picture after I modified mine to fit the ZXT

I believe Pete still makes flanges if you email him. I got mine from him even though he sold his 240. Excellent quality flange.
