Custom Exhaust required? 83' 280zx 2+2

Hi, I've been looking around for a performance exhaust that will fit the 2+2 model, but have had no luck. Any suggestions? I have been told that I could go the custom exhaust route, but I'm not exactly sure I want to do that unless it's the absolute only choice I've got. Thanks for the help!

Looks like you and I are in the same boat ... I have yet to come across a pre-made exhaust for a 2+2 as well. I had actually planned on getting a custom system, as I think it's not only cheaper, but it suits my purposes quite well (3" from the turbo back, high flow cat, high-performance muffler). Don't take my word on the cheaper part, as I'm not perfectly sure it will be. I plan on fabbing up one myself, so no shop labor fees to hassle with.
If you do find anything, let us know - there's plenty of us 2+2 owners looking for an exhaust!

ya know.... i just had a whole new exhaust system fabricated, from the manifold back... custom bent pipe, hi-flow cat and high flow muffler and chrome exhaust tip.... for about $250... installed welded and all... went with 2 1/4"

How's that exhaust system treating you? I've been checking around and I've come to the conclusion that there are no exhaust systems specifically tailored for the 2+2.

Thanks for the replies. I figure I'll be having one custom made soon.

Victoria Brittish sells a stock one, but it's a lot cheaper to get a custom one made, and it'll treat your motor better.

Im having one made for my 1983 2+2 this afternoon. Just order an exhaust and cat that you want, even get headers if you want to put the trouble into it. Then take it to a shop and tell them what you want.

I think we get this "bolt-on" mentality from the Honda boys.
I never thought about a bolt-on system at all. Just get a shop to do it, its cheap. $200 including cat and Flowmaster muffler. Took about 40 minutes.

my exhaust system is treating me WAY better, just be sure wherever you get it built that they weld it together and not clamp it, welding gives truer flow and lasts a little better
